Our “Safety First” commitment begins with a safety-centered, in-person onboarding program, which is unique in the oil and gas industry. While many companies have gone to digital onboarding, K&K Inc. still believes in a face-to-face onboarding experience between company safety representatives and new team members. This unique process allows us the opportunity to express and stress our company’s commitment to safety and to convey our requirements and expectations.

A principal tenant of our “Safety First” mentality is K&K Inc.’s promotion of STOP WORK AUTHORITY. The company encourages employees to ask questions before, during, or after a task. The company encourages each employee, no matter his/her job title, to stop a task if a hazard or a potential hazard is perceived. Each K&K Inc. project has a designated safety lead, utility locate lead and environmental lead that are trained and tested on these subjects. These roles are intended to be designated to high-potential employees that demonstrate an understanding of K&K Inc.’s desired culture and a desire to advance within the company.

Every individual in the K&K Inc. family understands safety is an essential part of our business and the functions they perform daily. Injuries (major or minor), near misses, and all property damage are required to be reported immediately, and project team members participate in a complete root-cause analysis to identify and share key lessons learned.
